I am saved by the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Through Christ I am forgiven by my Heavenly Father. My prayer is that all people will accept His sacrificial gift and become my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God.
Though I no longer live where I grew up in Southern Virginia, I will always consider Thrift’s Chapel United Methodist Church my home church. My parents married there, and my husband and I married there as well.
I grew up saying this creed every Sunday:
Apostles' Creed Traditional Version
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Each Sunday, we sang these hymns:
Gloria Patri (video)
Glory be to the Father
And to the Son and to the Holy Ghost
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
I wouldn’t exchange anything for my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for my parents, for having known all four of my grandparents, and for the gift of my extended family. They gave me the foundation I needed to go into the world. I now cherish the treasures of a devoted husband who answers to our Heavenly Father and two beautiful and godly daughters.
